We want to share the many benefits that theatre and drama can offer, so we've got lots of workshops you can take. This is your chance to get involved, and to learn.
Acting Masterclasses
These workshops run for three hours each Monday night, for eight weeks, here at our theatre. This is your chance to join a group of interesting, talented people working with some of the best theatre practitioners around. Tutors will be some of Brisbane's leading directors and actors, including La Boite's Artistic Director David Berthold.
Spaces are very limited of course, and are in high demand.
School holiday workshops
These workshops are for young people aged 6-18, grouped into appropriate ages, and run each school holidays. Generally, they run one week, Mon-Fri, from 10am-4pm, with a public presentation on the Friday afternoon. These provide a fun, creative and informative way to spend the holidays.
Very reasonably priced, and a great way to explore theatre and drama, or just to have fun.

Workshop in Schools
La Boite provides lots of practical workshops on curriculum areas. We can come to your school and provide high-level experiences for students. This is a way to get specialist input into your study program. The workshops are designed by professional artists and cover areas such as Physical Theatre, Theatre of the Absurd, Shakespeare and Elizabethan Theatre, Greek and Classical Theatre, different acting styles, and various aspects of Australian theatre and performance.
Professional Development Workshops for Teachers
These specialist workshops are designed and delivered by professional theatre artists aimed at enabling teachers to get the most out of their teaching. This is a way to enhance skills and keep up-to-date with the latest in contemporary theatre practice. In 2010, workshop will cover areas such as Hamlet, The Chairs, Australian Gothic, and Stage Combat/Physical Theatre.
