Following a great pilot year in 2009, La Boite Ambassadors returns in 2010 with 100 specially selected year 11 and 12 students from Queensland schools invited to become part of the La Boite team. In 2010, these Ambassadors come from 53 different schools from Brisbane and as far away as Gladstone and Bundaberg
What is a La Boite Ambassador?
A La Boite Ambassador is a student with a passionate interest in theatre who becomes part of the La Boite team. Ambassadors gain special insights into the workings of a professional theatre company and the creation of theatre. Ambassadors also introduce the work of La Boite to their peers, schools, and families.
Each Ambassador is entitled to:
- Attend a free Orientation Day at La Boite. On this day, Ambassadors will meet each other and the artistic teams involved in the company's 2010 season including new Artistic Director David Berthold, learn about La Boite and what it does, and participate in workshops on theatre-related topics including performance, sound, lighting, and stage management.
- Attend each 2010 La Boite production for free, receive a free program, and meet the actors and creative team for a discussion after the show.
- Receive regular e-newsletters on La Boite and other theatre news.
- Attend special workshops through the year
- Discounted tickets ($15) to La Boite productions for family and friends. Ambassadors can attend for free at any time.
- Perform their senior drama work on the La Boite stage at a special Ambassador performance.
- Act as advisers to La Boite by giving feedback and providing new ideas.
